Parliament, Thursday, 12 October 2017 – The Limpopo delegates to the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) together with members of the Limpopo Provincial legislature will tomorrow (13 October 2017) hold a debriefing meeting to deliberate on the observations made during visits to various sites in Vhembe and Waterberg districts as part of the 2017 Provincial Week programme.  

The programme is commemorated annually by the NCOP with the intention to give permanent delegates and Members of the Provincial Legislatures an opportunity to undertake oversight visits to service delivery sites in the nine provinces.

This year, the programme focused on the employment creation initiatives under the theme, “Advancing our collective efforts to creating work opportunities for our people.” 

The delegates together with Members of the Limpopo Legislature broke into two groups to conduct oversight visits in Waterberg and Vhembe districts.

The group that went to Vhembe visited five projects including Zwithi Food and Soap production and Nwanedi Agricultural Hub in Musina, Den Staat Irrigation Scheme in Mapungubye, Makuya Nature Reserve in Thulamela and Awelani Lodge located between Musina and Phafuri.

Meanwhile, the group that went to Waterberg visited seven projects including a road project in Ga-Seleka, Mivami construction and Babirwa Trust in Abbotspoort, Morogwa CPA in Lephalale, Dwaalboom clinic, Bakotudi Organic Primary Agriculture Cooperative in Thabazimbi and Rejarenamile Agriculture Cooperative in Sebilong Village.
