Parliament, Monday, 11 February 2019 – The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Higher Education and Training, Ms Connie September, will today visit the Durban University of Technology (DUT). The visit follows the death of a student during last week’s protest on campus.
The purpose of the visit is to gain a first-hand impression of what happened, to inspect the scene of the incident, and also to understand the related problems at the institution.
The Chairperson will be accompanied by another Member of Parliament serving in the Portfolio Committee on Police.
