Parliament, Monday, 14 August 2017 – The Select Committee on Social Services and the Select Committee on Education and Recreation will undertake a week-long joint oversight visit to the Northern Cape to assess service delivery in the province.

The visit is part of the Committee’s constitutional mandate of oversight over the executive in ensuring quality provision of effective services to the people. As part of the visit, the Committee will visit sites such as the Sol Plaatje University, Kimberley Hospital, Galeshewe Community Health Centre, Lerato Place of Safety and Lerato Park Village.

The Committees will on the first day engage with various departments on overall performance within those departments and progress in the implementation of targets.
