Parliament, Tuesday, 22 May 2018 – The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on International Relations and Cooperation, Mr Siphosezwe Masango, has sent condolences to families of the Cuban plane crash victims.

“This plane crash is as unfortunate as it is catastrophic, due to the fact that it only left two survivors in its wake,” said Masango.

On Sunday a Cuban state plane, Boeing 737 operated by Cubana de Aviacion, crashed shortly after take-off from Jose Marti Airport. It is reported that only two people survived out of 113 passengers.

The committee and Parliament would like to join the President of South Africa in sending its message of condolences to all the affected families and the great people of Cuba.
