Parliament, Monday, 16 March 2020 – The Portfolio Committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) has postponed until further notice a planned colloquium with the religious sector on the regulation of harmful religious practices, which was due to take place from 17-18 March 2020.

This is due to the announcement by the President of South Africa that the country is in the throes of the global health pandemic. As such, there is a prohibition on all gatherings of more than 100 people.

In light of this announcement it was deemed necessary to postpone the colloquium.
