Monday, 22 May 2017- The National Assembly continues with more debates on budget votes tomorrow, while the National Council of Provinces starts the process of policy debates on the budget votes that have passed through the Assembly.

Six separate mini plenary sittings of the National Assembly will tomorrow, from 14.00 to about 18.15 debate Vote 34 (Trade and Industry), Vote 33 (Tourism), Vote 7 (National Treasury), Vote 35 (Transport), Vote 23 and 20 (Police and the Independent Police Investigative Directorate) and Vote 37 (Arts and Culture).

The National Council of Provinces at its sitting tomorrow afternoon will hold a policy debate on Vote 15 (Higher Education and Training). A mini plenary sitting of the National Assembly debated this budget vote last week.

The National Council of Provinces plenary sitting tomorrow will also vote on the Protected Disclosures Amendment Bill and the Financial Sector Regulation Bill. Other matters for consideration are the:

  • Report of the Select Committee on Finance about draft amendments to the Supply Chain Management Regulations in section 169 (2) of the Local Government Municipal Finance Management Act of 2003
  • Report of the Select Committee on Appropriations on its oversight visit to Municipal Infrastructure Grant projects in Saldanha Bay Local Municipality in the Western Cape
