Parliament, Monday, 8 July 2019 – A joint meeting of the Standing and Select Committees on Appropriations will tomorrow be briefed by the Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO) on the 2019 Appropriation Bill [B6-2019].

One of the core functions of the PBO is to provide advice and analysis on proposed amendments to the Fiscal Framework, Division of Revenue Bill, Money Bills and on policy proposals with budgetary implications.

The purpose of the 2019 Appropriations Bill [B6-2019] is: β€œTo appropriate money from the National Revenue Fund for the requirements of the State for the 2019/20 financial year; to prescribe conditions for the spending of funds withdrawn for the 2020/21 financial year before the commencement of the Appropriation Act for the 2020/21 financial year; and to provide for matters incidental thereto.”
