Parliament, Friday, 10 March 2017 – The Ad Hoc Committee in the Filling of Vacancies in the Commission for Gender Equality met on Thursday (9 March) to discuss and consider the Human Resources and Protection Services report on vetting for the short-listed candidates.

21 candidates were shortlisted, 18 names have been verified for qualifications and two candidates are pending verification. One candidate has pulled out of the process.

The Committee agreed candidates will not be prejudiced against the findings of the verification of qualifications and security vetting process.

Members of the Committee agreed that findings from the security vetting and qualifications verification process will be interrogated during the interview process. All short-listed candidates will have an opportunity during interviews to respond to any findings of the process when Committee Members put questions to them.

Interviews have been scheduled for two days, 12 and 13 March 2017.
