Parliament, Tuesday 14 March 2017 - The Acting Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Lechesa Tsenodi, has responded to the letter of the Minister of Communications Hon. Faith Muthambi, in which she expressed dissatisfaction regarding certain elements of the resolutions of the National Assembly on the report of the Ad Hoc Committee on the SABC.
Parliament wishes to state that the Speaker of the National Assembly has no powers to overturn resolutions adopted by the House.
The letter of the Minister will be brought to the attention of the National Assembly by a way of announcement and tabling.
