Have Your Say: National Public Health Institute of South Africa Bill [B16-2017]

The Portfolio Committee on Health invites interested individuals and relevant stakeholders to submit written comments and indicate interest in making an oral submission on the National Public Health Institute of South Africa Bill [B16 – 2017].

The objective of the Bill is to provide for the establishment of the National Public Health Institute of South Africa in order to coordinate, and where appropriate to conduct, disease and injury surveillance; to provide for specialised public health services, public health interventions, training and research directed towards the major health challenges affecting the population of the Republic; and to provide for matters connected therewith.

Public Hearings will be held on 15 – 17 August 2017, in Parliament, Cape Town.

Written submissions must be directed to Ms Vuyokazi Majalamba and be addressed to the Portfolio Committee on Health 3rd floor, 90 Plein Street, Cape Town 8000, e-mailed to vmajalamba@parliament.gov.za  or fax to 086 694 3279 by no later than 28 July 2017. In addition to the written comments, please indicate your interest in making a verbal presentation.
