Invitation to the Media: Parliament’s Rugby Team to Play in Parliamentary Rugby World Cup in New Zealand

OLD ASSEMBLY DINING HALL, PARLIAMENT
Parliament’s Presiding Officers, Mr Max Sisulu, Speaker of the National Assembly and Mr Mninwa Mahlangu, Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces, will be wishing the Parliamentary rugby team every success at a farewell cocktail tonight.
The team leaves on 30 August to play in the Parliamentary Rugby World Cup in New Zealand from1 to 8 September and their first match is against Australia in Wellington on 4 September.
The South African Parliamentary team comprises Members of Parliament, Parliamentary officials and South African Police Service VIP Protection Unit members attached to Parliament.
Parliamentary teams from England, Ireland, France, South Africa, Argentina, Australia and Japan will be vying to take the cup from New Zealand, the reigning Parliamentary Rugby World Cup champions.
